Villa Gaia

Nisaki, Central Corfu

Six years ago, we took a side of a hill, on the sea and facing south, and over this period we designed and built two villas and surrounded them with Mediterranean planting.  This involved a huge amount of hard landscaping, tons of soil, and determination.  All the stone for the houses and landscaping was excavated on site.  The houses are designed to resemble long established rural homes, and the gardens are essentially planted along the access roads and paths in a Corfiot style requiring minimal irrigation.

Directions:

Coming from Corfu Town, get to the top of the Nissaki hill at which point the road bends sharply to the left in order to follow the contour of the hill. At the apex of that corner, directly in front of you, is a church painted in cream. Some 100 metres, on the right, after the church, you will see a driveway on your right-hand side.

You have arrived at the top of our drive.

This turning is very sharp, turning back on itself, so be careful as you turn in. Follow the road through the stone pillars, adjacent to the cemetery, and follow the contours of the hill. You will arrive at stone pillars with a black gate with a bell push on the left pillar. Arrive at the parking area at the top house and wander down to the sea.
