The garden was designed and created by my mother in law and her housekeeper in the early 1960s.

The garden was designed by Susan Ehrman and Aphrodite Fronimou in the early 1960s. It was an Anglo-Hellenic project which continues to this day, now overseen by Susan and Aphrodite’s daughters in law. Many of the plants and trees are original. There is a shady garden of box hedging which surrounds an old well at the front. And at the back are fruit trees and a vegetable patch (not yet planted for this year) and a rose garden and tropical garden. The garden is drawn out of the side of the mountain and much of the design aims to sit amicably alongside nature. The grass is left to grow until May because there are wonderful wild flowers which suit themselves.
